2026: BAO Movement Begins Voters Registration Awareness in Ekiti Communities

A political support group in Ekiti State, BAO Movement, has mapped out plans to begin house-to-house voters registration awareness campaign in Ekiti communities ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday during a meeting with its state leaders and local government coordinators, the State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Kehinde Boluwade, explained that the exercise is aimed at ensuring that Ekiti people, who are eligible to vote are not excluded from the electoral process.

The Coordinator said that the exercise follows the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) programme.

He emphasized the group’s commitment to promoting continuity in governance through the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji owing to his impactful leadership style in the state.

On his part, Secretary of the group, Hon. Olukosi Muyiwa explained that the awareness campaign will educate residents of the state, particularly at the grassroots on registering those who have turned 18.

According to him, the exercise will further educate them on the need to replace lost voter cards, update information for those who have migrated, and prepare them to participate fully in the 2026 governorship election.

In the same vein, PRO of the group , Mrs Mary Oso- Omotosho disclosed that the group has already partnered with transport unions in the state to ensure that the registration process is seamless.

A State Leader in the group and former Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Tosin Aluko urged the members to mobilize effectively at their local governments for a coordinated and impactful exercise aimed at galvanizing voters for the re-election of Governor Oyebanji.
