The Ikogosi Progressive Union, Ado-Ekiti Branch, on Thursday joined well-meaning Ekiti people to endorse Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term in office.
The Ikogosi residents, who marched colourfully in their numbers to the Governor’s Office Ado-Ekiti said they are satisfied with the inclusive leadership style of their Son since assumption of office.
Chairman of the Union, Chief Gabriel Asaolu heaped praises on the governor for his developmental milestones in the state noting that the people of his area are solidly behind his re-election ambition.
Also, Chairman of Ekameta local council development area, Hon. Leye Adeniji, emphasized that the endorsement of the governor is for continuity in governance adding that his transformative leadership has endeared him to the people.
According to him, “Governor Oyebanji is doing wonderfully well. This is as a result of what he is doing in every sector. He is a market that is selling everywhere and so many governors are coming to Ekiti to learn what he is doing.”
Earlier, Association of Government House Traders also joined the train to endorse the governor citing the various transformations by the state government and ease-of-doing business to aid their trades.
The Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho noted that the governor has laid a solid foundation through his people-centered governance that is being referenced by everyone.
She said: “Oyebanji is a governor that other governors are learning from. He is the same governor the Vice President of Nigeria referred to when he visited Ekiti and said, ‘If we can have four governors like BAO in Nigeria, the country would be a better place.’
“Everyone from Ikogosi has endorsed BAO. If you go from one house to another in Ikogosi, you’ll see that every home has a campaign banner for the governor. They have truly demonstrated how things should be done in Ekiti.”
Responding on behalf of the governor, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro appreciated the groups for supporting the re-election of the governor saying that he would continue to provide dividends of democracy.
Her words: “The Governor is someone who stands by his word and delivers on his promises. First of all, BAO is from Ikogosi, so you really have no other option than to support him. And since he’s performing well, you can all proudly endorse him.”
“The people of the state are enjoying the benefits of his leadership—civil servants, market traders, and even the children. We appreciate everyone present here today, and the Governor assures you all that he will do even better in his second term.”
