2026: NAPPMED Endorse Governor Oyebanji for Continuity

Ahead of the 2026 governorship election, a group under the aegis of Nigerian Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers, NAPPMED, Ekiti State Chapter, has formally endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye for a second term in office.

This endorsement was made on Tuesday when members of the group in their numbers from the 16 local governments marched colourfully to the Governor’s Office Ado-Ekiti.

Racheal Adeyiwola, President of NAPPMED in the state affirmed the group’s firm support for the current administration, saying that Governor Oyebanji’s leadership has demonstrated remarkable progress in governance.

According to her, “we have seen the good works of our Governor from the prompt payment of workers’ salaries to the regular payment of pensions. That is why we are endorsing him for a second term.”

Receiving the group, Special Adviser to the Governor on State Capital Development Authority, Tade Aluko, commended them for standing behind the re-election of Governor Oyebanji stating that the state has witnessed development across all sectors.

His words: “Actually, these people are not blind. They can see for themselves and they know what BAO has done in the state. They can feel it. They can see it. So, they have to show their appreciation and to let us know that they want him to continue the good job he has done.

“Their concern is for the state to continue in that trajectory of development and they know some other developmental things that BAO has done. They want it to continue and I appreciate them for seeing this and for acting the way they have acted and I told them that we’ll do better than this if he can be elected for the second time to manage the affairs of the state.

“If you have all these people behind you, what kind of miracle can anybody perform? All these people are genuine because that’s why I told them, go and get your voter’s card. Your numbers, your population in coming to endorse will not be a yardstick until you have your voter’s card in the days of election that you’re able to vote and cast a vote for him to really cap up your endorsement.”
