The CEO of Beracha Block Industry, Hon. Kolade Ogunsakin on Friday lamented how his company lost equipments after the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant, Engr. Kayode Ojo abandoned the fire service station project which he claimed to have donated to the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.
Ogunsakin, who doubles as the Vice Chairman of Ado North Local Council Development Area explained that Ojo had contacted his company in 2021 to mould 100,000 blocks for the project but abandoned it midway.
According to Ogunsakin, the company mobilized manpower and moulding materials to the site of the project and moulded over 4,000 blocks but couldn’t continue after Ojo failed to fulfill his part of the agreement.
His words: “About four years ago, precisely in 2021, he contacted me that he wants to build the fire bay for Ekiti airport. Then, I was still running my block-making industry. He said we were going to make about 100,000 blocks. I took my engines there and everything to start the business.
“Along the line, after we have gotten to about 4,000 blocks, he stopped getting across to me. We had to move away after waiting for about three to four months because I was paying my staff and the business stopped.
“He told us at the initial stage that we are going to make 100,000 blocks and that was what motivated us to go there to start the business. Along the line, he didn’t continue. Perhaps, after he lost the primary to Governor Biodun Oyebanji.”
The Council Vice Chairman challenged Ojo to present tangible evidences to Ekiti people by substantiating his claims rather than spreading falsehood to attract public sympathy.
“My engines are trapped there – the generators and my equipments are trapped there because I cannot locate the place any longer. That’s the problem I am facing with him. It’s quite unfortunate that he took me there and abandoned the business halfway.
“I lost my equipments there and it is so unfair of him. If he said he contributed to the airport, let him come to the public to tell them at what stage or point he contributed.”
