Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday, graciously donated an 18-seater bus to the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Ekiti State Wing, to fulfill his promise barely two weeks after the leadership of the union requested for an official vehicle.
Performing the official handover, Oyebanji, represented by the Head of Service, Folake Olomojobi, said he funded the donation from his purse on behalf of the Abiyamo Esther Oyebanji Foundation, a foundation in memory of his mother.

The governor noted that his administration has always prioritised the welfare of workers in the state and urged them to uphold the tenets of excellent service delivery in the discharge of their duties.
“NUT hold a special place with us in government and I want to reemphasized that this is from the governor’s purse and not from the state treasury.
“We can only encourage you but please help us to uphold the tenets of excellent service delivery and represent him in his humility, integrity, honesty, love and dedication for others.”
Responding, NUT Chairman in Ekiti State, Adedeji Egbeyemi appreciated the governor for keeping to his promise and described him as a governor who is genuinely committed to the plight of workers.

The NUT Chairman reassured the governor that the entire Ekiti teachers will solidly stand behind him during the forthcoming 2026 governorship election.
Recall that the governor had extended these acts of benevolence to other groups and associations including; Ekiti youths in agriculture under the Bring Back Youth to Agriculture Initiative while in October 2024, he donated two brand new buses to the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Ekiti State Chapter, and Ekiti Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS).
In November 2024, the governor extended the same goodwill to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ekiti State Chapter, with yet another donation of a brand new bus.
In December 2024, the Ekiti State Therapy Centre for Children Living with Disabilities received a brand new bus to aid transportation for special needs children, a gesture rooted in love and humanity.
By April 2025, he raised the bar again with two more buses, this time to the Ekiti State Council of Elders, and Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association, of which he is also a proud member. Then later, SUBEB model Nursery/Primary School, Iye Ekiti and many others.
