The Chairman of Emure local government, Tosin Adedayo and his counterpart from Ise-Orun local government area of Ekiti State, Ayodele Samson, said that council chairmen at the grassroots levels are complementing the shared prosperity vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The two council chairmen disclosed this, on Tuesday, in Ado-Ekiti, during the S’etigbo special series, anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications – spotlighting the giant strides of Governor Oyebanji’s administration across local governments in the state.
Adedayo stated that since assumption of office, his administration has focused on transparency in utilizing local government funds to deliver the dividends of democracy to his people.
The Emure boss noted that his commitment to community development and effective governance is in line with Governor Oyebanji’s vision for a prosperous Ekiti adding that the efforts undertaken in Emure reflect a proactive approach to enhancing the quality of life for residents.
His words: “I thank the state governor for supporting the local governments and giving us free hands to operate. For example, in Emure, previous chairmen that came before me can’t point at any tangible achievements during their tenure. But to God be the glory, the current administration that I work with has enabled me to highlight some of my achievements in Emure local government.
“In Eporo-Emure, for several years, there was no Police Station but with collaboration from the state government, we built a Police Station there. Not only that, I built 15 lock-up shops and even the dilapidated legislative building is currently being renovated.
“We are also embarking on agricultural interventions in the farm settlements where we have about four hectares of land for cassava, plantain farming and many others. The rural farmsteads roads in Emure were tarred with assistance from the state government.”
On his part, the Chairman of Ise-Orun highlighted his administration’s accomplishments in line with the six-pillar mantra of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
Similar to his Emure counterpart, Samson emphasized that Governor Oyebanji has entrenched full local government autonomy for development to spread across the grassroots level through projects execution, empowerment initiatives, governance innovations, among others.
According to him, “We are in full support of the six-point agenda of Governor Oyebanji in all the areas he has touched in the nooks and crannies of Ise-Orun from security, electricity, agriculture, job creation and good roads. We are complementing his efforts by giving the dividends of democracy to the people.”
