A former Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Yomi Oso, has described Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji as a leader who genuinely recognizes and values members of the party in the state.

Speaking on Voice FM in Ado-Ekiti, Oso stated that Governor Oyebanji has consistently prioritized the party’s interest in the state through various intervention programs noting that his exceptional leadership rates him above any form of opposition.

He said: “One remarkable thing that makes us happy is that Governor Oyebanji is the first governor to truly recognize and value members of the party. He is the first to tour all wards and attend ward meetings, ensuring that members feel his presence and know he is for them.

“In Ekiti State, no other party can boast of having its own party building. This is the governor who, from his personal resources, is constructing a party secretariat. He is also the first governor who genuinely cares for the elders of the party and members facing personal or financial challenges.

“Governor Oyebanji has spent over ₦200 million to support party members hospitalized and unable to pay their medical bills. He has also provided job opportunities to party members who are contractors.”

Ahead of the primary election of the APC for the 2026 governorship election, the former youth leader noted that the party’s constitution is explicitly clear on the issue of membership saying that “every member must pay membership dues and be a financial member before being recognized as one. While another person may also be contesting for the governorship, Governor Oyebanji’s record of service and commitment stands as a testament to his exceptional leadership.”

He emphasized that the entire Ekiti people are solidly behind Governor Oyebanji for continuity in governance owing to his impactful leadership style in line with his shared prosperity mantra.

“While we continue to hear distressing news from other states, Ekiti has been recognized as the most peaceful state in Nigeria. With the progress His Excellency is making in the area of electricity, Ekiti State will soon be able to generate its own power — a step that will transform the state. This is why the majority of citizens are calling for continuity of his administration.

“Governor Oyebanji has constructed numerous roads, created employment opportunities for many people, and spent over ₦40 billion on pensions and gratuities. Even past governors have publicly prayed for and commended him.”
