Ekiti people are fortunate to have Oyebanji as governor – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has showered encomium on Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, saying the people of the state are fortunate to have him as a governor.

This was contained in a statement signed by the NANS President, Olushola Oladoja, following their findings and observations in Ekiti State as part of its ongoing nationwide campus tour.

The students’ union body commended Governor Oyebanji for his developmental driven milestones saying that his achievements in office are visible and impactful.

They declared their unalloyed support for Governor Oyebanji’s re-election ambition in recognition of his visionary leadership and commitment to the prosperity of Ekiti people and the advancement of education in the state.

The statement reads: “The Leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Tuesday arrived in Ekiti State as part of the ongoing nationwide campus tour aimed at strengthening students’ engagement, promoting institutional harmony, and assessing the learning environment across Nigerian tertiary institutions.

“Upon arrival, the delegation visited the Ekiti State University (EKSU), where we held constructive interactions with both students and the management authorities on matters bordering on students’ welfare, academic improvement, and union inclusion.

“Our next stop was the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, where similar engagements took place, followed by a courtesy visit to the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, to continue our dialogue with the academic community.

“In our thirst for cultural exploration and heritage promotion, the NANS team on Friday paid a visit to the famous Ikogosi Warm Spring for relaxation and cultural immersion. While on that route, we could not help but notice the impressive state of infrastructure particularly the pothole free Ado-Ekiti to Ikogosi Road a testament to the unprecedented signature of performance of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State.

“This observation spurred our interest in knowing more about other transformative efforts of the Oyebanji administration. Consequently, the delegation embarked on a tour of several key projects executed under his government, including:

“The Rice and Soya Bean Processing Mills, which signify the transition of Ekiti from the “Fountain of Knowledge” to an emerging industrial hub;

“The Youth in Agriculture initiative (YSJ Farm), empowering young people through modern agricultural practices;

“The 80-bed Multipurpose Ward at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

“Newly constructed ring road commissioned by His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State, the Ekiti Agro allied International Airport, Ekiti International Cultural Centre with 4stars hotel, other commissionsed roads, and the ongoing Flyover Bridge in the Ado-Ekiti metropolis;

“Newly built student hostels and facilities across campuses; and the official vehicle donated by Governor Oyebanji to the NANS South-West Zone D leadership to support student mobility and coordination.

“After our comprehensive tour and first-hand assessment, the National Association of Nigerian Students is convinced that Ekiti State is indeed fortunate to have a developmental driven and people oriented governor whose achievements are visible and impactful.

“Except a better performer emerges with verifiable proof, NANS stands solidly with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in his re-election bid in recognition of his visionary leadership and commitment to the prosperity of Ekiti people and the advancement of education in the state.”
