EKSG Reaffirms Commitment to Promote Ekiti-Made Products as Ekiti Bag Makers Association Displays Handmade Designs

The Ekiti State government, through the Bureau of Community Communications, has reaffirmed commitment to the promotion of Ekiti made products to boost the state’s economy.

The Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho stated this on Tuesday at the maiden edition of the ‘Bag Day’ organized by Ekiti State Bag Makers Association and inauguration of its new executives.

According to her, the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji is committed to expanding trade opportunities for Ekiti entrepreneurs through business-friendly policies and support.

She commended the association for deepening the state’s creative industry adding that the state government would continue to offer opportunities for business expansion and investment partnerships.

Her words: “As an association, I believe there is so much potential in the work you do which is a craft of wisdom, skill, and creativity. With the continued support of the government, I know you can achieve even more.

“With the beautiful handmade bags you showcased here , Governor Oyebanji, as a promoter of creativity and local content , will support your craft.”

“This support is not only because of the love you have shown to Governor Oyebanji it is also because the governor is pleased with the orderliness in your association especially with regards to tax payment . His Excellency values this association greatly.”

On her part, President of the association, Alade Olabisi said the exhibition is geared towards showcasing their products to Ekiti people and sought patronage from residents of the state.

Highlights of the Bag Day is the exhibition of beautifully crafted handmade designs, made of quality leather and combined from a meticulously-designed unique artistic flair as well as presentation of four hundred handmade BAO branded gift bags to the Governor for his campaign.

The Director General was honoured as the Life Matroness of the association for tirelessly promoting the activities of the state government, particularly at the grassroots level.
