…as Nathaniel Bassey, other gospel artists storm Ekiti for 8 hours sacrifice of praise
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday attributed the successes recorded by his administration in the first term to the mighty hand of God.
He declared that prior to his emergence as governor in 2022, there were lots of stumbling blocks but God in His infinite mercy, entrusted him with the exalted position to lead Ekiti people.
Speaking at the ‘8 Hours Sacrifice of Praise’ held at Oluwasindara Hall, Ado-Ekiti, the governor said the first of its kind occasion in the history of the state, was an opportunity to appreciate God for His faithfulness during the first tenure.
The State Chief Executive Officer, addressing a gathering of political leaders, government officials, clergy, gospel artists, traditional rulers and residents, showered praises on well-meaning Ekiti people and the masses for their support since he assumed office on October 16, 2022.
According to the governor, “God trusted me and I found myself on the seat and in the last four years, God has shown himself mightily. The least I can do is to continuously give thanks to him.
“You can see the way the election went, it was like a walkover. In the history of the electoral contest in this state, there is no party that has garnered 85% of the total votes cast. Nobody died during the campaign and nobody died during the election.
“In the last four years, the Ekiti State Executive Council is the largest in the South West and we are the poorest. We have not lost anybody and we didn’t lose anybody in the House of Assembly.
“God has been so good to us and in terms of support from the President, I stand here as a living child of God to let you know that there is nothing I have taken to Mr President that he hasn’t approved and that explains what we have been able to do for our people.
“I’m just giving this testimony to encourage us to continue to hold onto God. Once you have God, you have nothing to fear. There will be contentions and distractions but just be focus on God because with God, nothing shall be impossible. For Ekiti, as long as we stay on the path of righteousness, the best is yet to come.”
In his remark, Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele appreciated God for making the first term administration of the governor to be seamless saying that Ekiti will witness greater accomplishments in the second term.
While praying for a successful second term, the Senate Leader urged the governor to eschew politics and prioritise governance in his second term for the benefits of the masses.
With hearts full of gratitude and faith, top gospel artists including Nathaniel Bassey, Adeyinka Alaseyori, BJ Sax, Bola Discovery, Biola Ojuawo, Tolu Sax, Deborah Ajayi, etc led Ekiti people from all walks of life to powerful praise and worship sessions.
The epoch-making sacrifice of praise equally featured prayer of thanksgiving, praise ministrations, hymns renditions by choirs of various churches including RCCG National Praise Team, among others.
Among dignitaries present were Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, wife of the governor, Olayemi Oyebanji, Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Stephen Aribasoye, members of the State Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PremiumTrust Bank, Emmanuel Efe Emefienim, among others.
