Governor Oyebanji’s Commitment to Grassroots Development Unprecedented – Aide

The Technical Advisor on Local Government Matters to Ekiti State Governor, Olabode Adetunji, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to grassroots development as unprecedented.

Adetunji applauded the state governor for his people-oriented projects and inclusive approach to governance saying that it is a clear demonstration of leadership that brings government closer to the people.

The governor’s aide stated this in Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday, during the interactive S’etigbo multicast, anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications.

He emphasised that the administration of Governor Oyebanji has continued release funds for the local governments for more impactful development across the state.

His word: “the impact of Governor Oyebanji is unprecedented because I can see that the job being done in each of the local governments are people-oriented.

“The chairmen were told to go their various local governments, aggregate what they want and based on that, they came up with their budgets. By so doing, they are spreading the governor’s presence at the grassroots level.

“This stems from the fact that the governor is releasing allocations to them as at when due. There is no local government that would say they are short of funds to ameliorate the lot of our people.”

According to him, local government chairmen serve as representatives of the governor and are mandated to initiate projects that directly benefit the masses.

Adetunji, who doubles as the Ekiti Central Senatorial Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress, APC, E-registration exercise, said the initiative is geared towards strengthening the party’s structure across the country.

He noted that APC remains open to defectors from opposition parties and urged party members to participate actively in the ongoing in e-registration exercise if they truly believe in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership.
