The Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Grassroots Communication (North), Moshood Lawal, says the historic inauguration of 5,000 community canvassers is driven by the unprecedented achievements of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The SSA made the disclosure on Tuesday, in Ado-Ekiti, during the interactive S’etigbo multicast, anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications.
Recall that Governor Oyebanji recently inaugurated the canvassers, powered by the Bureau of Community Communications for his re-election and that of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Lawal, who explained that the canvassers are apolitical, said they are drawn from various grassroots structures in the state including, private sector, artisans, non-indigenous groups, youth bodies, young market women, among others.
According to him, the canvassers are using the opportunity to appreciate the governor for his inclusive leadership style, saying that they are poised to mobilise electorates through person-to-person and ward level engagement.
Lawal highlighted some ongoing infrastructural projects in the state, including rural road construction to support farmers in transporting produce, building of new general hospitals, renovation of health centres, and the construction and rehabilitation of public primary and secondary schools across the state.
He appealed to the people of Ekiti State to support the governor’s second term, emphasising that their votes will play a crucial role in sustaining ongoing development efforts.
