Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 600 bags of rice to government special schools and orphanage homes across Ekiti State, to celebrate the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations.
The donation, which was made through the First Lady’s pet project, Renewed Hope Initiative, on Thursday, was received by the State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev’d Emmanuel Aribasoye, for onward distribution to the beneficiaries across the state.
The CAN Chairman commended the First Lady for extending support to the vulnerable in the society, describing it as a symbol of better things to come in 2026.
Aribasoye disclosed that the items will equally be distributed to the 17 chapters of CAN across the state, including street sweepers under the Ekiti State Waste Management Authority.
He seized the opportunity to call on Nigerians to remain steadfast in the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for more purposeful leadership and dividends of democracy.

His words: “We received two trucks of 600 bags of rice. One came on the 31st and we couldn’t offload until yesterday morning and the second came in very late last night.
“The President and the First Lady sent seasonal gifts to all the states in the country. A truck load for CAN and others for Special Schools for the Needy. Although, in other places it was meant for IDP camps but we don’t have such in Ekiti.
“Actually, we were supposed to receive the rice last year but God in his own way delayed it so that it will be New Year package for us. It’s a symbol and a sign that this year is going to be better.
“We know that our President meant well for the country as much as we are feeling the impact of the good administration of our amiable governor in Ekiti State.
“Let people continue to trust God and pray for good days to come again. We have the assurance that this year is going to be far better than what it used to be.”
