Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Olagbaju says that the collaboration between the legislature and the executive is driving impactful development in the state.
Olagbaju, who spoke on Wednesday during a program on Progress FM Ado-Ekiti explained that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has provided a seamless platform for the legislatures to thrive without any interference.
Her words: “The relationship between the legislative and executive arms is an excellent one. Unlike in some other states where there are constant rifts, there’s nothing of such here.
“We, the members of the legislative arm, are working hand in hand with the Governor because he allows us to perform our duties freely without interference.
“We are also practicing true autonomy in our legislative house. Whenever we are confused about an issue and need his attention, he always shows up and gives us clear explanations. He gives us our due respect.
“Recently, he presented the 2026 budget to us and told us that if there’s any part that needs adjustment, he is open to making the necessary changes.”
The Deputy Speaker noted that the consensus candidacy of Governor Oyebanji as All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2026 governorship election is a testament to his impactful development in the state.
“If the Governor is allowed to continue for a second term, he will be able to complete all his ongoing projects. People across the state are also endorsing him to continue his good work.
“I also want to appreciate all the members of the party. The other aspirant who initially wanted to contest against the Governor personally wrote a letter withdrawing from the race after witnessing the massive support and positive remarks people have about the Governor’s leadership.”
She highlighted the governor’s achievements saying: “The Governor has also been settling the arrears owed by past administrations. Pensioners now receive their payments on time, and teachers have been speaking highly of his administration.
“Her Excellency also established the Adire Hub, which stands out as one of the best initiatives. Ekiti State even ranked first in terms of security. The Governor ensured that security agencies are present in all local government areas to guarantee the safety of the people. There are so many roads the Governor has constructed that I can’t even mention them all.”
