Oyebanji Gets Divine Endorsement for Rectifying 12 Years Salary Disparities Between State, Primary Healthcare Workers

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji on Wednesday received divine endorsement for another tenure for rectifying the 12 years salary disparities between state health workers and the primary healthcare workers.

The primary healthcare workers in the state, under the aegis of Ekiti Women Health Providers, BAO’s Praise Army, declared their support for the governor’s re-election at an event in Ado-Ekiti tagged: “Divine Endorsement Exceeding Praises and Prayers.”

State Coordinator of the group, Pastor Comrade Tayo Bade-Gboyega explained that the divine endorsement is to throw their unalloyed support behind the governor’s re-election for approving and implementing the salary increment of the primary healthcare workers upon resumption of office.

According to her, “By the time the governor came on board, we have been in the struggle for the past twelve years for all health workers in the local government. There was disparity in our salaries for good twelve years but by the time he came on board, the Lord used him from 65% to 90%. Within a short period, he balanced everything to be 100%.

“So, there is no difference between the state health provider and the local government health provider. In Ekiti State, we are one. God has used the governor to breach the gap and balance our salaries.”

She revealed that the divine endorsement is aimed at appreciating the governor’s various interventions in the health sector saying that “there are free health services both old and young, pregnant mothers and infants. The governor has also renovated all the old facilities and even rebuild most of it. God has used him to change many lives.

“There is nothing we can give to him than just to pray for him, praise God on his behalf and appreciate God Almighty for sustaining him. We are also praising God in anticipation that everything is settled.”

Other labour leaders at the event including the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Ekiti State, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde; Chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), Comrade Femi Ajoloko; the management of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency; among others, lauded Oyebanji for his unwavering commitment to staff welfare and people-centered policies.

Governor Oyebanji, who was represented by Pastor Mrs Toyosi Omope and the Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho, commended the group for standing behind the governor’s re-election bid while urging them to get their voters card ahead of the 2026 election.

In his exaltation, Pastor Sunday Akinola in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Province 4, who took his bible verse from Malachi 6-8, urged the group and Ekiti people to exemplify humility and compassion in their dealings on earth while describing Governor Oyebanji as a leader that fears God.

Other highlights of the event include the presentation of the symbol of divine endorsement to the governor and goodwill messages from Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, Onisan of Isan Kingdom, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs Tosin Aluko, among others.
