Oyebanji’s Aide Olusola ‘Iya Olowo’ Buried in Odo Ayedun Amid Tears, Tributes

The Special Assistant on Mobilization to Ekiti State Governor, Hon. Mrs. Ogundare Olusola, (Iya Olowo Lati Itapa), was on Tuesday, buried at her Odo Ayedun residence in Ikole local government of Ekiti State.

Olusola, who was assigned to Bureau of Community Communications as a political appointee, died last week Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 56 years.

Before her body was committed to mother earth, a christian wake was held in her honour on Monday at her Itapa residence.

The burial ceremony in Odo Ayedun was conducted by Christ Apostolic Church and was attended by family members, relatives and sympathisers, top government functionaries and other notable personalities from the area.

The Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho, who led the Ekiti State government delegation, prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.

Omotosho described the late Olusola as a passionate mobiliser and dedicated community leader who will be remembered for her genuine commitment, loyalty and brilliant contributions to community development and public discourse on all radio stations in Ekiti State.

She urged the people of the state to remember the bereaved family in their prayers while appreciating the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji for his fatherly role during her lifetime and even when she was gone.

The DG, on behalf of the political appointees attached to her office and members of staff, extended gratitude to Ekiti people for their condolence messages, visits and calls.

On her part, the SA Gender Empowerment & Mobilization, Chief (Mrs). Kemi Olaleye, described her as a strong woman, great personality and a loyal appointee in the Oyebanji administration while praying for her gentle soul rest in peace.

Also, Chairman of the Freelancers and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Ekiti State Chapter, Comrade Afolabi-Olorunfemi Asorogbayi noted that she is “a member that we will forever miss and your positive contributions. It is our prayers that your creator grant you eternal rest and be with your children and grandchild that you left behind.”
