Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the State-wide Endorsement Committee for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji has disclosed that thousands of Ekiti people will grace the epoch-making event.
Speaking as a Special Guest on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti during the interactive S’etigbo multicast anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications, Surv. Aluko declared its readiness to host the event billed for 28th July, 2025 at Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti.
He explained that the endorsement of Governor Oyebanji for a second term is driven by the people’s satisfaction and confidence in his leadership noting that he has performed credibly across all aspects of governance, particularly in improving the welfare of the people of Ekiti State.
According to him, the endorsement did not come from Governor Oyebanji himself, but from the people of Ekiti, who collectively desire to give him the opportunity to serve a second term, emphasizing that although the governor has not officially declared his intention to run for a second term, the people of the state are urging him to contest.
His words: “We are mobilizing about 30,000 people to the pavilion. Everything is on course. One thing I want to emphasize is that this is a voluntary endorsement by members of the APC who believe that Governor Oyebanji has done well and he deserves a second term.
“On our own, we are doing this without government financial input. We want everybody to know that our governor has so far done very well and we endorsing him for second term. So far, nobody else has shown interest but if there is, INEC has set primary. Ekiti State will be agog that we have a governor who is doing well and wo the people have shown their interest and commitment to second term.”
Surveyor Aluko also spoke on the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term, alongside Governor Oyebanji, explaining that President Tinubu’s policies on poverty eradication, security, and economic improvement have positively impacted the country and justify his continued leadership.
He highlighted that under President Tinubu’s administration, all states, including Ekiti, have benefited significantly. Several Ekiti citizens have been appointed to strategic government positions, strengthening the case for the president’s re-election.He further stated that the endorsement event will be a celebration of the people’s collective decision to support both Governor Oyebanji and President Tinubu for a second term.
As a party leader, Surveyor Aluko commended Governor Oyebanji for transforming Ekiti State through improved governance, infrastructure development, peace-building, and inclusive leadership. These achievements have earned him recognition and awards from various media outlets.
