
The Chairman of Ekiti West local government, Moses Omojola has said that all the 38 local governments and local council development areas, LCDAs, chairmen in the state are enjoying full autonomy under the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The chairman disclosed this on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti during the interactive S’etigbo multicast anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications.

He said: “What we meant by the autonomy is the freedom of services to the people and our governor gave us the freedom to serve our people both monetary term and free hands to operate etc.
“So, the autonomy is real and no Chairmen both at LGA and LCDAs can say he is not free to act. We are governing and rendering services to our people.”
His counterpart from Ekameta LCDA, Leye Adeniji stated that they have embarked on numerous projects to complement the efforts Governor Oyebanji’s grassroots impact in his council area.

According to him, “we installed solar lights in all our health centres. In education, we provided school bags and exercise books. We have also complemented the efforts of the governor in the area of infrastructure by drilling boreholes. We have also completed parts of our secretariat.
“In the area of ecological control, we constructed drainages and culverts and we procured motorcycles for our security personnels.”
The Ekameta boss revealed that plans are underway to convert the site of the first plane crash in Africa that was recorded in 1942 to have occurred in Ikogosi-Ekiti into an attractive tourism destination.

In the same vein, the Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA Chairman, Ajibade Sunday equally highlighted the achievements of his council area and commended the state government for prioritizing the welfare of the citizens, particularly at the grassroots level.
