Ekiti 2026: APC Conducts Free, Fair, Credible Ward Delegates Congress Across Wards

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has successfully conducted a free, fair, and credible ward delegates’ congress across the 177 wards in the state ahead of the party’s consensus procedure scheduled for October 27, 2025.

The Congress, held simultaneously in all wards, was to elect five delegates each from the 177 wards in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, in line with APC guidelines. The delegates will on Monday participate in the affirmation and ratification of the party’s consensus candidate Governor Biodun Oyebanji , the first of its kind in the state’s political history.

The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), journalists, and security agencies to ensure compliance with due process and maintenance of law and order.

In Ado Ekiti, the process was generally peaceful and transparent. At Ward 9, the Chairman of the electoral body for the exercise, Kolade Ogunsakin, described the process as seamless, noting that the outcome reflected the genuine will of party members. A ward leader, Sunday Ibitoye, also commended the high level of discipline and orderliness exhibited by party faithful during the exercise.

The five delegates elected from Ward 9 are Mary Omotosho, Sunday Ibitoye, Fatoba Muyiwa, Ademola Bello, and Falilat Akorede.

Similarly, the Delegate Congress in Ado Ward 5 was held and concluded successfully . Delegates elected include Akeem Apempe, Nike Ajisafe, Hon. Toyin Ojo, Lateef Salami, and Taju Apempe.

At Ado Ward 4, the Congress was held at St. Michael, opposite Mobil Filling Station, where members turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise. The delegates elected are Ademola Adetola (Papa), Former Deputy Governor of the State, Princess Modupe Adelabu, Tajudeen Babalola, Prince Aladesanmi Adesuyi, and Chief Remi Oguntuase.

The Ado Ward 6 Congress exercise also ended peacefully with members unanimously adopting the consensus arrangement. Delegates elected from the ward include Yomi Oso, Talabi Odunayo Arinkayo, Falilat Akinbo, Adedamola Temitayo, and Tope Adelusi.

Party leaders, Albert Talabi and Senator Bode Ola, commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the wards, describing it as a clear demonstration of the unity and maturity within the APC family in Ekiti State.

At Ado Ward 10, the process produced Chief Fakorede Oluwole, Architect Tope Ogunleye, Prince Bolu Aladesanmi, Mrs. Adunni Ayeni (JP), and Hon. Dele Owoju as delegates.

In Ado Ward 11, the exercise was also conducted successfully through consensus, producing Prof. Abibat Adubiaro, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi, Afolabi Alowonle, Princess Adeola Omotayo, and Adeniyi Adedipe as delegates.

In Ekiti West Local Government, party members in Ward 01, Aramoko Ekiti, were in high spirits as the delegate election commenced under the supervision of Mrs. Okoye Ebere, the INEC official assigned to monitor the exercise in the area.

Reports from other local governments, including Emure, Ido-Osi, and Ijero, indicate that the exercise was hitch-free. In Ward 8, Idamudu 2, Emure, where Hon. Bola Akinadeju and Mr. Tanimola Kolade hail from, the process concluded successfully. Also, Ayetoro Ward 1, Ido Osi LG, as well as Iloro/Ijurin Ward B and Ikoro Ward in Ijero LG, affirmed their delegates through a peaceful consensus in support of the party’s unity drive.

Likewise, in Ikole Local Government, the Delegate Congress held today in Ward 08, Odo-Ayedun, the ward of the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye was conducted and concluded successfully through a consensus process. Party members in the area commended the peaceful atmosphere and the leadership role of the Speaker in fostering unity and cooperation among party faithful.

Similarly, in Ikere Local Government, the exercise was conducted peacefully at Atiba/Afin Ward 1, the home ward of the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye. Party members described the process as transparent and harmonious, noting that the unity demonstrated at the ward level mirrored the stability and cohesion the party enjoys under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership.

Generally, the process was seamless and hitch-free in all the 177 wards across the state, with party members commending the APC leadership for ensuring transparency, fairness, and a spirit of togetherness ahead of the forthcoming affirmation on Monday , 27th October ,2025.
