Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji on Tuesday rolled out another major empowerment program that saw more than 30 groups receive food items and cash support ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The groups including private sectors, artisans, traders, traditional birth attendants, among others, received the governor’s empowerment packages at the End-of-Year grassroots engagement program organised by the Bureau of Community Communications.

Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho, who spoke at the event, stated that since assumption of office, Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated a vision to prioritise the welfare of the Ekiti people in line with his shared prosperity mantra.
While appreciating the groups for supporting the administration of Governor Oyebanji, she noted that the empowerment scheme is the governor’s responsiveness to the needs of the masses through community-driven initiatives and regular stakeholders engagements, particularly during the yuletide celebrations.

Omotosho assured the commitment of the Oyebanji’s administration in fostering a conducive environment for entrepreneurs, artisans, young market women and businesses to thrive towards the growth of the state’s economy.
Responding, Chairman of Private Sectors Development Organisation, Abiodun Israel, represented by Ojo Olabanji commended the governor for his continuous support to the association in the state and assured him of their support ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

According to him, “the governor has done exceedingly great for us. He appointed our members as Special Assistants and Advisers at the local government. I am bold enough to say that the governor has involved our members in his administration. He has done enough empowerments for our people both in cash and in kind.”
Representative of Ekiti Teachers Advancement Group for BAO, Idowu Olatunbosun said that “the governor has been doing it every quarter to give people some incentives and to make them happy. We appreciate and thank him. I want to tell Ekiti workers to support Governor Oyebanji who has been trying to make us happy for our benefits.”
