As part of measures to disseminate information on government activities, policies and achievements, the Ekiti State government has interfaced with Ise-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti residents at the grassroots level.
The event tagged: “BAO Street Connect”, which is organised by the Office of Community Communications, sensitized residents of Ise-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti over the weekend on the policies and achievements of the state government.

The colourful and breath-holding “BAO Street Connect” in both Ise-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti communities gave residents the opportunity to have a feel of the policies and achievements of Governor Biodun Oyebanji through exciting educational talk shows, distribution of free gift packs, game competitions and other fascinating live action enactments.
Speaking with journalists, the Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho said the programme is an avenue to connect with the people of the state at the grassroots level.

She reiterated the commitment of Governor Oyebanji in ensuring that residents of the state are carried along with the activities of the state government saying that the governor is a proper grassroots governor.

According to Omotosho, the “BAO Street Connect” will spread across all the LGAs and LCDAs of the state in a bid disseminate the activities of Governor Oyebanji.

She said: “We unveiled BAO Street Connect officially in Ado-Ekiti some weeks ago. It’s another grassroots communication platform that we have unveiled to get more to the people so that information of government activities could be shared with the people in the grassroots.”

“More importantly, we are trying to leverage the strong bond of Governor Biodun Oyebanji with the people on the streets. We have come up with this idea because the governor is a governor of the street, who already shares fantastic communication with the people at the grassroots and of the streets.

“We also use that avenue to further take government information to the people on the streets. We will take it round. It will be every month. We will cut across all the LGAs and LCDAs in Ekiti State.”

Meanwhile, the residents of Ise-Ekiti and Ikere-Ekiti, who listened with rapt attention and participated in the thrilling event commended Oyebanji for being a people loving governor. They assured that they will continue to support his administration even beyond his first tenure adding that the lives of people of Ekiti State have tremendously improved since he assumed office.
