DG Community Communications, Omotosho Holds Roadshow to Celebrate Oyebanji’s Re-election, Says Governor ‘ll do More

The Director General of the Bureau of Community Communications in Ekiti State, Mary Omotosho, on Sunday, held a roadshow to celebrate the re-election victory of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Omotosho described Governor Oyebanji’s re-election as a victory that belongs to all residents of the state, especially the downtrodden.

Omotosho said the governor’s performance in his first term earned him the trust of the electorate across all 16 local government areas.

Recall that the Returning Officer for the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Adenike Oladiji declared Oyebanji of All Progressive Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s governorship poll after he secured 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rival, Dr. Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 40,543 votes while the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ambassador Dare Bejide, came a distant third with 12,872 votes.

Oso-Omotosho said the governor had pledged to intensify community development projects and reach more residents during his second term.

She urged Ekiti people to sustain their confidence in his administration, stressing that their turnout at the polls was a reflection of that belief.

Her words, “The victory is a deserving one and it is for all the people of Ekiti State, especially the masses whom the governor has been paying attention to over the years.

“We have strong trust and belief in him that he is going to do more. He is for the masses, he is for the poor, he is for all the communities of Ekiti State.

“Equity is for all of us. The kind of inclusivity that the governor brought into governance in Ekiti State in his first term, we know that he is going to double it up this second term.

“We put politics aside, as usual, and then embrace the Ekiti projects. That is why all over Ekiti State you cannot see any message of bitterness from us, the winning team. We are just jubilaneous and celebrating as it should be.”
