The Celestial Church of Christ in Ekiti State has mapped out plans to mobilise voters for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 20 Ekiti governorship election.

This was contained in the report of the General House Committee meeting of the Body of Shepherds in Ado-Ekiti and Ijero regions, which held at CCC Premier Parish Ado-Ekiti, and signed by Yomi Oso on behalf of the chairman, Rt. Hon. Tope Ademiluyi.

The committee declared their support for the governor’s re-election ambition citing the developmental milestones across the all the sectors of the state’s economy.

The committee equally emphasised the need for the church to take ownership of its dedicated member and Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, through coordinated spiritual and strategic activities including prayers, revival programs, and thanksgiving services to be jointly organized by the Body of Shepherds and the Committee.

They noted that the initiative to seek divine intervention is designed to secure God’s guidance ahead of the poll for the re-election of Governor Oyebanji stressing that there is no impediment to the church’s involvement in political processes, particularly the involvement of a devoted member of the church who occupies the office of the deputy governor.

The committee offered appreciation to God for His grace upon the life of the deputy governor and commended her for being a vessel through whom the glory of the Celestial Church of Christ is being manifested.

According to them, “her conduct, loyalty, and dedication to her principal and to Ekiti State at large were also highly praised.”

The committee assured that the shepherds are ready to embark on the spiritual and political journey with the deputy governor, affirming that through her, the glory of the Celestial Church of Christ will continue to shine in the state.
