Ekiti Guber: Our target is victory across 177 wards – Oyebanji to Ikole, Oye residents

Ahead of the June 20 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has declared that the target is to secure a resounding victory across the 177 wards in the state.

Governor Oyebanji stated this while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters in Ikole and Oye local governments at the commencement of the local government tour of the All Progressives Congress Governorship Campaign Council.

He charged them to mobilise voters in their wards and polling units for total victory stressing that the outcome of the governorship election will serve as a litmus test ahead of the 2027 general election.

Governor Oyebanji noted that his administration has delivered on his campaign promises to the people of both Ikole and Oye, stressing that sustainable development can be achieved through continuity in government.

His words: “In 2022, we kickstarted our campaign in Ikole and we won. Today, we are starting again in Ikole, and we will emerge victorious once more. In Ikole LGA, you can attest that we have delivered on our promises—we pledged roads, water, infrastructure, and support for women, and we have fulfilled them.” Governor Oyebanji

“Great nations are built on continuity and alignment of vision, and one thing that clearly stands out is that the BAO Solution is working.

“On June 20, 2026, we have a date with history. When we leave here, let’s return to our units and canvass for votes. It is APC you will see on the ballot, not BAO.”

In his remark, APC Chairman in the state, Sola Elesin equally urged them to canvass votes in their respective wards and units for the governor’s total victory.

According to him, “Let’s return to our units and wards to canvass votes for the continuation of good governance in Ekiti. Unit meetings must continue to ensure total victory for the Governor.”

In their separate remarks in Ikole, H.E. Paul Alabi and Prince Oladele Adeniyi pledged that the people of Ikole will deliver massive votes for the governor’s re-election and commended his sterling performance in office.

Speaking in Oye-Ekiti, Mrs Kemisola Olaleye highlighted the significant milestones of the governor to Oye residents, assuring that they would go all out in their numbers for his victory at the poll.

She said: “We thank the Governor for his outstanding performance, particularly in Oye Local Government. The Itapa-Omu-ljelu road is now a two-minute drive, while the Oye-Are road project is ongoing.

“Farmstead roads have been extended to Imojo, alongside the construction of classrooms and the renovation of general hospitals. Surgeries are now being carried out in Itapa-Ilupeju General Hospital, as patients no longer have to travel to Oye to access such services. This is why we will support the Governor for a second term.”
