EKSG Cautions Residents Against Underrating Flood.

Earlier today, amidst concerns for public safety, the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye accompanied by the Commissioner for Environment, Chief (Mrs)Tosin Aluko , Director-General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso-Omotosho and General Manager SEMA ,Mr Oludare Asaolu swiftly responded to reports of a tragic incident at Ureje river ,along Poly Road, Ado Ekiti.

This follows the discovery of a corpse early this morning which is presumed to be a motorcycle rider who got drowned during the heavy downpour on Friday evening .

While a comprehensive effort is underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased, the body has been transferred to the morgue at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado.

In light of this, the Deputy Governor sensitized residents and passersby on the need to take precautions and avoid getting into a high level erosion during heavy rainfalls whilst reiterating Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens at all times .

Meanwhile, individuals who might be related to the deceased or have detailed information about him are encouraged to visit EKSUTH for identification.
