
…as DG, Community Communications bags Award of Excellence
The Ekiti State Government have been lauded by Persons With Disabilities, PWDs, for providing a platform for disabled athletes to achieve their full potential through sports.
The disabled athletes, under the aegis of PWDs in Sports, Ekiti State made the commendation on Monday in Ado-Ekiti during an award presentation to the Director General, Bureau of Community Communications.

The Head Coach of Para Sports in Ekiti State, Peter Ojo lauded the state government for consistently supporting the Para Sports family in the state and promoting an all-inclusive governance for PWDs in the state.
He equally showered encomium on the DG, Bureau of Community Communications for playing a crucial role in helping to bring a smile on the less privileged in the state and keeping them off the streets through sports.

In the same vein, the S.A on Disability Matters to the Governor, Akin Olugbenga said with the support of the state government, sports have been used as a form of both physical and mental therapy to improve the living conditions of the PWDs.
At the brief event, the group presented an Award of Excellence in Human Relations for good gesture and inclusivity to the DG, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho.

Responding, the DG said the state government remains committed to providing support systems for individuals with disabilities to thrive noting that their well-being is a paramount concern for the governor.
While appreciating the group for standing behind the re-election of Governor Oyebanji, she assured of the state government’s deliberate efforts in prioritizing the welfare of disabled athletes in the state.
