Ekiti 2026: A vote for APC is a vote for continuous progress, good governance – Oyebanji

…describes deputy as good ambassador of Ikere

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji says his re-election will usher in more purposeful leadership under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

The governor ascribed his second term ambition as a vote for the APC for continuous progress, prosperity, security, peace, employment and good governance across the state.

Oyebanji spoke in Ikere-Ekiti on Friday in continuation of the statewide grassroots engagement for his re-election campaign where a mammoth crowd of supporters reaffirmed their support ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

He reemphasised that victory at the poll will put an end to the era of succession jinx while urging Ekiti electorates to reward President Bola Tinubu with their votes for his tremendous achievements in the state.

According to him, “On June 20, all of us will have a date with history. June 20 is extremely important to us in Ekiti State for so many reasons. The first reason is that it will be the day we will finally break the jinx of continuity. Secondly, it’s the day that Ekiti people will use their votes to say thank you to President Bola Tinubu for what he has done for us.

“Since the creation of Ekiti State 29 years ago, no President has been fair to Ekiti State like President Tinubu. You have to go out en masse and vote for his party. As you vote for APC, you vote for continuous progress, prosperity, security, peace, employment and good governance.

“The target that we have set for ourselves as a party is 177-0. I have no doubt with the leaders in Ikere and I assure you that when we come back by God’s grace, we will double that. Let us be at peace with each other. Our ambition isn’t worth the blood of any Ekiti man.”

The governor showered encomiums on his deputy, Monisade Afuye for being a partner in the progress of Ekiti, describing her as a good ambassador of Ikere community.

“She is a good ambassador of the Ikere community. The Deputy Governor has done so well and I couldn’t have wished for a better Deputy Governor than her. I can assure you that we will continue to work together for the betterment of Ekiti State and for the Ikere community.”

In their separate remarks, representatives of the party’s leadership, youth and women groups promised that Ikere community will vote massively for the governor and lauded his giant strides in the area.

According to Ibrahim Adewale “We are giving the governor 100% assurance as far as Ikere is concerned and Ekiti as a whole because he has done so well. He has touched nearly all the towns in Ekiti State which is very visible to everyone.

“I believe there is a reality in the 500,000 votes. We can make it happen because in the state as far today is concerned, the governor is a friend of the people. I believe the governor is qualified to meet up to that 500,000 votes.”
