Ekiti will repay Tinubu with re-election based on track record of achievements – Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday, declared that the state will repay President Bola Tinubu with re-election based on his proven track records in the state.

Oyebanji stated this in Ekiti West local government at the statewide grassroots engagement for his re-election campaign.

The governor said that Ekiti electorates will re-elect Tinubu owing to federal government interventions in the state, particularly the ongoing Aramoko-Erio-Itawure road reconstruction project.

“Heavy construction work is currently ongoing on Aramoko -Erio-Itawure road. The value of the construction work is put at 156 Billion Naira. Meanwhile, in the year 2022 when I assumed office, the entire Ekiti budget was 146 Billion Naira. That means, the cost of the construction of that road is more than the Ekiti budget for the year 2022.

“Only a President who truly loves us in Ekiti State would embark on such. For this and more, we owe President Tinubu and we will repay him handsomely in 2027.”

Earlier, Senate Leader and Chairman of the governor’s re-election campaign council, Opeyemi Bamidele said the governor has performed creditably well adding that the opposition in the state are also supporting his re-election.

“This is the first time in Ekiti State that both the ruling party and opposition voices are rallying behind one candidate. Governor Oyebanji has performed remarkably well. He is a true Omoluabi who continues to demonstrate the virtues and values of the Omoluabi ethos.”

In the same vein, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Wale Fapohunda, said that “the governor constructed Ido-ile to Oke-imesi, Ikogosi to Ìpólé-ìlọ́rọ̀ and Aramoko to Itawure is ongoing. We have many things to campaign for his re-election. Governor Oyebanji has done so much for this local government and the 500,000 votes is achievable.”
